There are many community based organizations such as: The Chamber of Commerce, the Houma Terrebonne Visitors and Convention Bureau, service clubs, Mardi Gras Carnival Clubs, etc. Our city is lead by its Parish President and a nine Member Council. Our local government is recognized as one of the most progressive in the state, with a modern infrastructure to meet the fast growing pace of the entire area.
